Everyone's a playwright!
(January 17, 2017)Lots of people are convinced that they are playwrights, as witnessed by the number on the website at http://www.doollee.com where there are presently listed 55,018 playwrights with 185,532 plays of theirs waiting to be performed.
Are all these people bone fide playwrights or are they just "in denial"?
A wheelwright used to have a five-year apprenticeship to learn the "wrighting" or forming of wheels. It is suggested that the skill of "wrighting" a play also has to be learnt (see our advice on books for playwrights)
