Books for playwrights

Anyone seriously considering trying to write a play or improving their writing would be well advised to beg, borrow or purloin either of the following two books:

(i) "The Writer's Journey" by Christopher Vogler, published by Pan; ISBN 0-330-37591-1 which includes a template on The Hero's Journey (i.e. your main character)

(ii)  "Playwriting" (The Structure of Action) by Sam Smiley, published by Yale University Press, ISBN 0-300-10724-2
